Preparation for Paneer Shimla Mirch Recipe

  • Paneer (Cottage Cheese) : 200 gm (cut in big cubes)
  • Capsicum : 2 (cut into square pieces)
  • Chopped Onion : 1 large
  • Chopped Tomato : 2
  • Chopped Green Chilli : 2
  • Ginger Paste : 1 tsp
  • Cumin Seeds : 1 tsp
  • Coriander Powder : 1/2 tsp
  • Garam Masala : 1/2 tsp
  • Turmeric Powder : 1/2 tsp
  • Salt to taste
  • Cooking Oil : 2 tsp
  • How to Make Paneer Shimla Mirch

    Heat 2 cups of water in a pan and add asafoetida in it.

    Cut paneer into cubes and soak them in warm asafoetida water for 10 minutes. Drain the water and keep paneer cubes aside.

    Heat oil in a pan.

    Add cumin seeds in pan and fry until they start crackling.

    Add chopped onion and fry until it turns pink in color.

    Add coriander poder, garam masala, turmeric powder. Keep frying on low flames for 30 seconds.

    Add tomato and ginger paste. Add salt and keep stirring. Cook it until the onion tomato mix starts leaving the oil.

    Now add shimla mirch pieces and cook covered till it is half cooked.

    Add chopped tomato   Add capsicum pieces   Cook covered : capsicum tender
     

    Add cubed paneer and cook further till the shimla mirch is done.

    Paneer Shimla Mirch Sabzi is ready.

    Garnish with chopped coriander leaves and serve it hot with chapati or paratha.

    Quick Recipe for Paneer Shimla Mirch ki Sabzi

    Cut the paneer into cubes and soak in the asafoetida water to make paneer warm and softer. Meanwhile chop the onion and tomato.

    Now heat oil in a pan and crackle cumin seeds. Add onion and fry till it turns light pink in color. Add dry spices. Add chopped tomato and ginger paste. Fry till the tomato mix is cooked completely.

    Now add capsicum and cook until capsicum is tender. Drain the water form paneer and add the paneer cubes in the pan. Mix slightly so that paneer cubes are not broken. Cook until the capsicum is cooked.

    Paneer Capsicum sabzi is ready. Serve it hot with chapati / paratha / naan.
