How to Make Veg Momos
Making Momos Sauce
Place garlic cloves, ginger, whole red chilli in a grinder. Add 1 tsp of water and grind to make a fine paste.
Add salt and vinegar. Add red chilli powder to provide color to the sauce.
Veg Momos sauce is ready. Keep it aside.
For Momos Flour
Take wheat flour / maida in a bowl and add salt and oil to it. Kneed a soft dough by adding water to it. Cover with a wet cotton cloth and keep aside for 15 minutes.
For veg momos filling
Heat a tsp of oil in a frying pan. Add chopped garlic and fry till it is light golden in color.
Add chopped onion. Fry for a while.
Add soya sauce, vinegar and salt.
Add grated carrot and mix well.
Add grated cabbage and chopped green chilli and mix well. Cook for 7 - 8 minutes on low flames. Keep the vegetables crisp.
Making veg momos
Now make small round balls of dough and roll in the shape of circle of 2 inch radius.
Keep the cabbage stuffing in center and lift the outer part of rolled dough. Join the outer part to close the stuffing in roll.
Repeat the process for rest of the dough.
Now steam for 8 - 10 minutes in a steamer or use the pressure cooker to steam. ( Pour a cup of water in Pressure cooker. Place a stand in pressure cooker and put a plate shapes sieve on it. Place the momos and close the lid. Remove whistle form lid. Cook for 8 - 10 minutes).
Momos are ready.
Plate the momos and spread red sauce. Serve hot.
